A new entrant into the Nigerian tablet space, Knack is introducing the Knack Ace 276 tablet device designed to be the most affordable tablet PC in Africa into the market at $100 (about N16,000).
According to Eyiolawi Gbenga, Founder and CEO, Knack International Limited the firm behind the people’s tablet,”It was designed to be the most affordable quality tablet PC in Africa going into the market at $100 only. Our aim is to allow Africans the opportunity to get a quality luxury Tablet PC at the price of a regular phone.”
The tablet device comes with a 7-inch screen with 1024×800 resolution and dimensions of 188x108x9mm; sports a 1GB RAM and 8GB external memory, upgradeable to 32GB and runs on Android 4.2.2 OS. Powered by a 1.5Ghz dual core processor, the device comes with 4000mAh battery, a 2.0MP front-facing camera and a 5.0MP back camera with auto-flash and is Dual-SIM enabled featuring a regular and micro-SIM. With In-built 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, the Knack Ace 276 comes in five different colours – Silver, Black, Green, White and Red.
The company says it would also pack a flip cover, a power bank, a screen protector, an OTG cable for movie viewing, a USB cable and 6 months free data bundle for its customers in Nigeria. The product is expected to be commercially available in June.
